In Hiding

So, it's snowing outside. 8" and counting. We haven't seen snow like this in the Puget Sound region since 1990. It's kind of a big deal. Kind of. My parents are spending the weekend in Las Vegas with my aunts and uncles. And after careful consideration of several factors I evacuated Bainbridge Island (my current home) in favor of spending the duration of the storm with my brothers and sister in Poulsbo...where there is four wheel drive, a fire burning 24/7, a complete cable package, Wi-Fi, and other human beings to interact with.

Before settling into my dad's favorite chair I stopped through Kitsap's retail mecca to finish up my Christmas shopping and stock up on food stuffs. HOLY COW. Mission accomplished, but I don't know if it was worth fighting through the crowds. Mental note: Don't ever shop on the Saturday before Christmas.

I've been watching tv. Reading design/crafting/wedding trend blogs. Catching up on my email. Being in charge. And living the life of a house cat.

It doesn't look like I'll be going into work tomorrow. I'll give it a good Levengood try, but snow is the perfect excuse to take an un-planned day off. And so close to the Christmas, who really cares? We're all checked out mentally anyway.
