I had no idea that I could walk to the beach from my house - it's just 20 minutes! Michelle kidnapped me Saturday evening and I just followed her. Sometime it's more fun when you don't really know where you're headed, right? Before I knew it we were walking over the train tracks and could practically feel the breeze coming off the Puget Sound. She took me to Ray's Boathouse Cafe to sit on the deck and have a glass of wine - every day this week has been a celebration! We watched the sun go down under the fast approaching marine layer and the paddle boarders make their way back to dock. Those brave souls - when I look at the sound all I can think about is the giant octopi looming in the depths, waiting for someone to fall in! As it got colder we curled up with blankets and sipped coffee. And just as the stars were coming out we started making our way home.
It was the perfect summer evening!
