ENCOURAGEMENT
Ok, here we go.
My days are predictably un-predictable. Before the sun starts to peek up over the Cascades, I'm n a bank of cubicles, sitting in front of two screens, with a happy light blaring up and out. I'm heads down in emails. Coordinating chaos, assisting people, making things happen.
It's not always pretty. Let me tell you. When everyone wants the world from you, and yet don't make themselves available, my eye begins to twitch.
The all day interview loop I've had set up for weeks deteriorates in a matter of minutes when the video conference equipment isn't set up. My face begins to flush.
I come back to my 6'x6' safe place to a mountain of requests, all high importance, all asap. That might be it. Let me outta here.
And then a friendly face pops up of the wall to say hello. To give me a smile of encouragement. To say you're important, good job.
And just as quickly, my day tips in the other direction. I'm smiling at others, taking my day in stride. I'm stopping to take stock of all I have to be thankful for. I'm choosing my words wisely because I know they have power. Thank you, God, for your hand in my life and the small ways you encourage me along the way.
xo, V

Oh, I love this! I, too, have had many times where I was deflated, discouraged and God sent someone unexpectedly to lighten my load! I loved your post! Visiting from right after you at FMF. Also, I love Seattle. Lived there many years ago and have applied to the Seattle School and waiting on God's timing of it all. Blessings!
Valerie,
So many times FB is a distraction for me as a writer, diligently (trying) to work on my computer. But equally often, a smile or quick word pops up on the wall, just when I need it!
happy Friday!
